Fairchild Palms - Good Times. Good People. Good Will.

The Fairchild palms Join us as we mingle at the hottest spots in Miami, take moonlight tram tours and party at the lush Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, and work with the students involved with the Fairchild Challenge to learn about preserving our planet. Roll up your sleeves and help us get down and dirty with environment education.

We are the Fairchild Palms, the young professionals’ volunteer group of the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Our diverse members share a strong passion for environmental conservation through a wide variety of fun social and networking events.

The money we raise supports the Fairchild Challenge, a South Florida-based environmental education and conservation program credited for leading a green movement in schools worldwide. The program is dedicated to fostering lifelong environmental awareness, scholarship and stewardship in pre-teens, teenagers, and by extension their families and communities.

The Fairchild Challenge combines hands-on research, creativity and a wide variety of engaging projects. The annual, standards-based program offers a menu of separate but parallel interdisciplinary Challenge options for public and private middle and high schools, attracting students of diverse interests, abilities, talents and backgrounds. In its eight years of existence, the program has become one of the world’s most comprehensive and influential youth environmental education programs.

The Challenge is the premier outreach program of Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, a truly unique place dedicated to exploring, explaining and conserving the world of tropical plants. Here people can walk garden paths surrounded by the wonders and beauty of nature, talk to experts in horticulture, conservation and science, view impressive art, see butterflies and birds at every turn and take classes on everything from photography to grafting. In 2009, our first official year, the Fairchild Palms partied into the night at four signature events in our beautiful Garden, mingled at some amazing happy hours around town, got together for a bunch of fun volunteer opportunities, and capped it all off with a $10,000 donation to the Fairchild Challenge environmental education program.
